Learning Journal 9

For the ninth week of class, a lot of time was spent learning about CSS and what we can do with. Specifically, a lot of this related to the use of positioning.

Learning about it in my CIT 230 class was very helpful. This was because I had already learned about in my Creating Online Media class but was not fully grasping it. The explanation given by Brother Robertson helped me to do the following:

I used this in my Creating Online Media where we are creating a restaurant website. It took a lot of time to figure the placement out.

I have felt that as I have I been doing this work in CSS that I am having to take a “Whatever Works” approach to doing it. I mean, I am getting it done and it all looks and preforms like it should but I feel like I am not creating the beautiful house that I should be. Instead I feel like I am making a perfectly functional house with duct tape. I hope that the explanation makes sense.

I would also like to make it known the frustrations that I having with two people in my group, Julie and Ben. They are great people and have good skills. Unfortunately they seem to be taking a casual view to this class and they just don’t come and leave when they want to. It is frustrating because the other members of the team have to spend time training them in what they missed. Particularly with Julie, who is responsible for the CSS of the site, she is very far behind the rest of the group because she doesn’t come.

If possible, I (and I am sure others in the class) would appreciate it you could emphasize how important it is to come to class.
